Cottagecore Style in Sage Green: Wallpaper and Fabric Ideas

Updated: 6 days ago

Sage green is having a moment — and for good reason. Soft, restful, and endlessly versatile, it brings natural calm into your home while pairing effortlessly with both modern and vintage elements.

An easy DIY sage green cottagecore bedroom with easy to install (and removable) wallpaper in a sage green and white "Lacy Floral Hearts Tiles" print, a sage green Tweed Textured duvet cover, cream sheets and a throw pillow printed in "Trailing Daisies 24" - Coral Pink + Periwinkle Blue + Sage Green on Yellow".
A cozy cottagecore bedroom featuring soft sage green tones, enhanced by lacy floral wallpaper and a textured duvet cover, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.

If you’ve been dreaming of a cozy, cottage-style bedroom, sage green might be your perfect starting point. I created this look using my Lace Floral Hearts Tiles wallpaper in sage green and white, which sets a delicate, vintage tone for the whole space.

1. Start with a Statement Wall in Sage Green and White

The wallpaper in this room — Lace Floral Hearts Tiles — features a half-drop floral tile design. Each hand-drawn "tile" includes a central flower with hearts forming the petals. Each petal has a flower drawn within. The central flowers are surrounded with lacy vines and small hearts. The sage green and white colors of the wallpaper pattern coordinate beautifully with some of my favorite Benjamin Moore paint shades like:

  • 🪴 October Mist – A muted sage that's warm and earthy

  • 🌬 Wind Chime – A soft, grayish neutral for contrast

  • 🤍 Simply White – A crisp, clean white for trim or accents

This color palette sets the tone for a calm, collected space that still feels warm and personal.

2. Layer in Cozy Cottagecore Patterns and Pops of Color

Next, bring in complementary patterns, colors and textures through bedding, lampshades, and throw pillows. In the above illustration, I chose my trailing daisies print with pops of eucalyptus pink and soft periwinkle blue for the throw pillow and lampshades. These colors tie in naturally with sage green while adding just enough contrast to keep things lively. For texture, I added a Tweed Texture 12" duvet cover, also in sage green.

3. Mix Textures for a Vintage Feel

This room features:

  • A carved wooden bedframe in a warm red-brown

  • Soft, natural-fiber linens

  • Covered lamp shades for a pop of color

  • And of course, a small white pup for maximum coziness 🐾

Mixing textures (wood, fabric, ceramic, glass) and natural tones adds depth, warmth, and that “lived-in” charm.

Final Thoughts

Designing a beautiful bedroom doesn’t have to be complicated. With a clear color palette and a few special textile details, you can create a calming retreat that feels like it’s always been there. Sage green is a perfect choice — timeless, grounding, and full of possibility.
