Transform your bedroom into a romantic retreat with soft florals, timeless stripes, and thoughtful handmade details. In this post, I’ll walk you through how to recreate this cozy cottagecore bedroom featuring my “Roses & Stripes 12” wallpaper design — with eucalyptus pink roses, dark green leaves, and soft yellow and white stripes — all inspired by classic Benjamin Moore paint colors and hand-carved block prints.
🛠 Step 1: Prep the Space
Start with a clean foundation. Wipe down the walls to remove any dust or residue. Then, paint the trim in a fresh, clean white (I recommend Benjamin Moore Simply White for a soft and classic finish). Let it dry thoroughly before you move on to wallpapering. If you will be papering only an accent wall, paint the three "non-accent" walls. I recommend Benjamin Moore Winter Sunshine, a pale yellow that is similar to the shade of yellow I used to make the striped background of the wallpaper. Or, if you want something brighter, paint the walls with Benjamin Moore Wildflowers, a soft but brighter yellow.
🌼 Step 2: Apply Traditional Wallpaper
The star of the room is "Roses & Stripes 12" - Eucalyptus Pink + Green + Pale Yellow + White" wallpaper printed on traditional, non-pasted wallpaper. As you can see in the photo, below, traditional wallpaper has a lovely texture, which give a heritage-quality finish to the room. The pale yellow and white stripes set the tone, while hand-drawn block print style roses (in bright eucalyptus pink, with deep green leaves) add charm and color, enhancing the cottagecore vibe.
This is a traditional wallpaper, so you’ll either need to paste the walls yourself or hire a professional installer if you’re new to wallpapering. Once it’s up, the room immediately feels more polished and cozy.

What if you don't like yellow? I have made the Roses and Stripes pattern in four colorways and two sizes. Check them out here. Or, for custom colors, you can contact me through either my Spoonflower Shop or my contact form.
🪵 Step 2b: Lay Down a Neutral Rug
To balance all the pattern and color, add a neutral area rug in a light tan, oatmeal, or warm cream. This anchors the bed and softens the floor without overwhelming the eye.
🛏 Step 3: Add Cozy Cottagecore Bedding
Your bedding should echo the softness of the wallpaper while grounding it with a little contrast. I used my “Moire Texture (24") – Eucalyptus Pink” pattern for the duvet, which adds a subtle watergrain texture that complements the roses beautifully.
For sheets, I went with “Gingham Check Plaid (1" squares) – Eucalyptus Leaf Green + White”, which adds structure and a traditional cottage feel.
I love gingham checks. They are timeless but full of motion—and the colors tie back beautifully to the wallpaper. The combination feels coordinated but not too matchy-matchy.
You can find this plaid design on sheets, duvet covers, curtains, or even custom fabric if you prefer to sew your own.
🎀 Step 4: Layer in Accents
To tie the room together, add accents that reflect and repeat elements in the room, such as the wallpaper and duvet cover. For example, you could cover one of your pillows with a pillow shame in my the smaller Roses & Stripes 6" design (below, left). In another example, you could add a velvet throw pillow in the 6" Roses & Stripes pattern (below, center). Or mix it up with a euro shame in 24" Lacy Floral Heart Tiles, in Sunny Yellow on White (below, right).
Then, cover the lamp shades in the same Moire Texture, but in the 12" scale, to create harmony across the space without overwhelming it.
These custom fabric touches bring personality and softness — they’re small changes that make a big visual impact.
🖼 Step 5: Add Wall Art
Finish your cottagecore retreat with a floral art print above the bed — I chose rose watercolor that a did several years ago. I like the rose botanical painting because it echos the wallpaper and give the space a timeless, collected feel. You can use thrifted frames or vintage-inspired artwork to enhance the nostalgic look. You can find an art print of this rose watercolor painting in my Zazzle Shop.
🏡 Final Thoughts
This bedroom is a mix of handmade charm, vintage elegance, and easy color coordination. The combination of block-printed roses, classic gingham, and subtle textures brings that dreamy cottagecore aesthetic to life — all with layers you can customize for any space or season.
